BCQ - Building Community Through Quilting

For more than ten years, participants at BCQ have been learning quilting techniques. No prior experience in sewing is necessary. Volunteer "teachers" work one-on-one with new students teaching them basic sewing machine skills and helping them make a sample quilt with nine to twelve basic quilt blocks like "nine patch," "flying geese" and "card trick." After students have finished their first quilt, their imaginations and interests determine what they next  make - for example table runner, baby quilt, queen-size bed quilt, place mats or even potholders!

On June 2, 2019 at the Genesee Valley Quilt Club Show, this quilt will be raffled off. Made by BCQ volunteer Mike Gold.
